The Harborough 2 Road 1950's Engine Shed is an amazingly detailed, fully coloured and textured representation of a 1950's engine shed.
The outer walls are manufactured from Modelux Creteflex, which gives a very detailed , strikingly realistic concrete effect.
The roof is manufactured from trusses and 4 box girders - all finished in powder blue. This assembly is fully structural and provides the building with great strength. The trusses are manufactured from 1.3mm multicore board, whilst the box girders are made from 300GSM flexcore card. Each girder has 4 sides which require glueing together to form the box - the indivual sections are flimsy until assembled - they are then rigid and very strong - by using thin material Modelux are able to create the correct scale detail, which is incredibly fine. The truss and girder assembly can be clearly seen through the 'glass' roof.
The roof surface is manufactured from 2mm clear acetate which has been etched to recreate safety glass.
The shed also features 2mm acrylic etched side windows complete with vent.
The kit is straightforward to assemble. PVA glue required. Full instructions included.
